Supreme Court Fixes

I know that the supreme court feature is new, so I’m just dropping this in here so it doesn’t get forgotten. We were talking in the discord and I know we’re supposed to pop it in here.

I think we would benefit from a cohesive Supreme Court system that functions a lot like the United States’ (idk where most folks are from but I think this is going to be the easiest to relate to). Judges have to get together, discuss their opinions on how a decision should turn out, split up into “yays” or “nays”, and then designate which judge writes the majority opinion. Concurring opinions and dissents can be written however the judges want, but I think we need majority opinions in order to create a system that actually grows and develops over time. Developing case law, encouraging people to reconsider their constitutions and add amendments, etc. It won’t happen over night, but as it stands, there’s really no way to establish a) a firm history of case law and opinions or b) actually write persuasive arguments without saying “oh I just feel like this violates the constitution” somehow. I know we all have constitutions that mirror RL countries in some way, but we can’t stay immersed in the RP if we’re going “Judge #1, see SCOTUS’s opinion in Brown v. Board”
