Party wings
Hey! I have another feature suggestion that could make political parties feel much more realistic and dynamic. What if parties could have internal wings/factions? For example, a party could have a Youth Wing, Workers' Wing, Women's Wing, Student Wing, Rural Wing, Business Wing, etc. These groups could represent different sections of the party's supporters and have their own priorities. These wings could influence the party's policies, leadership elections and ideology. For example, the Workers' Wing might push for stronger labour rights and higher wages, while the Business Wing might push for lower taxes and fewer regulations. The party leadership would then have to balance these different interests.
There could also be internal party factions, such as a moderate faction and a more radical faction. MPs could belong to different factions and support or oppose the party leadership depending on how closely the leadership follows their beliefs.Another thing I think would be really useful is a Party Position / Policy Tracker UI. There could be a small icon on each party's profile showing where the party currently stands on different issues.
For example:
Economy: Left ← ● → Right
Social Policy: Conservative ← ● → Liberal
Environment: Low ← ● → High
Immigration: Restrictive ← ● → Open
Welfare: Low ← ● → High
But it could go further by showing how the party's position has changed over time. If a party previously supported a proposal but later voted against it, players could see that change in the party's history.
The UI could show something like:
Party Position
📈 Current ideology
📜 Previous positions
🗳️ Past votes/proposals
🔄 Ideological changes
👥 Internal factions
📊 Support among different groups
