Add National Holiday

Feature Requests

Give the government or the legislature the option to designate (annual) national holidays to commemorate special events. This would work so that it appears in the calendar and no political party could schedule an event on that day, nor could elections be held on that day.

On the contrary I feel it should be important for government officials to interact with national holidays. Celebrating independence or a religious holiday publicly serves as political leverage in the eyes of voters swinging opinions based on their beliefs. Special categories for holidays such as giving speeches or attending festivals can serve to connect with voters.
