Add 40 New Laws Across Economy, Healthcare, Justice, Democracy, Housing, Infrastructure, Environment & Society
I think Lawmaker could benefit from a much larger and more diverse law catalogue. The current system already provides a strong foundation, but many important political issues are either missing entirely or only represented indirectly.
The main goal of this proposal is not to add 40 laws just for the sake of having more laws. Each law should create meaningful ideological and political differences between parties and have consequences for different voter groups, government finances, the economy, welfare, liberty, infrastructure and the environment.
These could also work particularly well with the planned economic, referendum, party ideology and supranational/treaty systems.

WHY THIS WOULD BE A GOOD ADDITION
I think these laws would give parties substantially more ways to differentiate themselves politically.
A socialist party, liberal party, conservative party, green party, libertarian party and social-democratic party could all have very different positions across these laws rather than simply disagreeing on a small number of existing issues.
More importantly, these laws could interact with the game's other systems.
For example:
Corporate tax โ Government revenue โ Welfare spending โ Public approval
Carbon tax โ Business costs โ Inflation โ Voter satisfaction
Property tax โ Housing affordability โ Different voter groups
Voting age โ Youth electorate โ Election results
Police accountability โ Individual liberty โ Law-and-order voters
Paid sick leave โ Workers' rights โ Business support
This would make laws feel like interconnected political decisions rather than isolated modifiers.
POTENTIAL LONG-TERM EXPANSION
These laws could also become even more valuable once systems such as inflation, currencies, economic crises, referendums, party factions, MP ideology and supranational organizations/treaties are implemented.
For example, a government facing high inflation might have to decide between cutting spending, raising taxes or accepting increased debt. A carbon tax could affect inflation and economic growth. A referendum could allow voters to directly approve or reject controversial laws.
The result would be a much more dynamic political simulator where the policies a party chooses actually shape the political environment it has to campaign in later.
I don't think all 40 need to be implemented at once. Even adding them gradually in groups of 5โ10 would significantly expand the political choices available to players.

Thank you very much for this proposal. I have implemented 15 of the laws, as listed below. The ones I have excluded are either financial measures (eg taxes, spending) which need to be implemented separately, they were close duplicates of other laws, or they cover areas that I donโt want to model in the game.
The 15 new laws:
Prescription Drug Pricing
What Public Healthcare Covers
Healthcare for Non-Citizens
Police Body Cameras
Police Accountability
Bail & Pre-Trial Detention
Drug Treatment & Harm Reduction
Government Transparency
Anti-Corruption Commission
Social Housing
Broadband & Digital Access
Carbon Pricing
Industrial Pollution & Water
Paid Sick Leave
Adoption & Fostering

These are great suggestions. Thank you. I wonโt be implementing the taxation ones (they will come in a different taxation package as they impact budgets, need to think about how they impact voting and consumption, etc) but the others are great ideas.

This has to get added, we need more laws
